Chamberlain home

For students receiving their A level results tomorrow and gaining a place at the University of Birmingham the campus will be an amazing home both to study and also, for those in halls, to live.  The transformation of the campus has been as exciting as the transformation of Birmingham itself with a new library, sports centre, new halls of residence and a forthcoming green heart to the Edgbaston campus, https://uobgreenheart.com/.

As an alumnus of the university it's been exciting to see the transformation, with a little bit of envy at the fantastic facilities for current and future students; compare the photo below of my room in the summer of 2002 while working at Chamberlain Hall with the improved facilities.

For students moving into halls and particularly Chamberlain Hall with it's fantastic views across the city and campus, the facilities on offer and experience you will have will make your first year one to remember and Birmingham a fabulous home.

The original Chamberlain Hall was built in 1963, http://birminghamcentral.blogspot.com/2012/11/high-hall-university-of-birmingham.html, and while it was home to thousands of students it was a far cry from the facilities now on offer.  As an ex student and summer worker at Chamberlain Hall it is amazing to see the new Chamberlain Hall as the crowning jewel of the Vale.

Facilities have been transformed offering self-catered studio apartments and catered ensuite facilities with the ground floor offering social space and a restaurant.

In the 1972-3 academic year Chamberlain Hall's tower was known as High Hall and was men only with residential fees for 1971-72 £236 for a single room and £233 for shared rooms.

The photos below show the new Chamberlain Hall and the facilities and views from it.
