In April 2014 I wrote an article called Yummy Brum, http://birminghamcentral.blogspot.com/2014/04/yummy-brum.html, and it's fair to say it's a very yummy Brum indeed with new restaurants opening, more accolades with Carters of Moseley becoming Birmingham's fifth Michelin starred restaurant and the buzz of good food permeating press, social media and conversation.  Restaurants are springing up across the city and offering visitors and locals alike a taste of the world for every taste and budget.

The growing foodie offering has even caused terest and i'd argue jealous attacks in the media with an Observer restaurant pundit following The Times' Giles Coren's attack on Birmingham's new food offering, http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2015/feb/06/why-giles-coren-got-birminghams-food-scene-all-wrong

Despite recently winning its fifth Michelin star, the city often finds itself at the sharp end of reviewers’ tongues. But unfairly so – its pool of chefs may not measure up to London, but it is highly skilled, unpretentious and home-grown

With so much choice it's hard to work out where to eat but there are lots of helpful ways of choosing with Dine Birmingham offering an online food and drink guide, Visit Birmingham offering information on food events and a search of places to eat, and the Birmingham Mail giving reviews of restaurants and news about events and restaurants.

IChooseBirmingham, the weekly quality editorial magazine which should be compulsory compulsive reading has produced a list of the 20 coolest restaurants in Shortlist, the freely distributed print magazine, http://www.shortlist.com/food-drink/the-20-coolest-restaurants-in-birmingham
