Chamberlain Hall construction update February 2015

Progress continues to be made on the redevelopment of Chamberlain Hall since my previous update of 12 December, Chamberlain Hall December Construction Update.

The tower has almost reached it's full height of level 20 as construction has reached level 18.  Brickwork has been ongoing on the tower and linear blocks as well as windows and copper cladding being installed.

Speedclad, the contractors for the design, supply and installation of copper cladding, perforated copper cladding and ceramic terracotta and associated items on the tower and blocks have been awarded the inaugural monthly Safe Contractor Award for their exemplary health and safety standards working on the site, http://www.speedclad.co.uk/news/safe-contractor-award-for-speedclads-project-team-at-birmingham-university/

The removal of the smaller crane is scheduled for the 14 February.
