Squaring - Library of Birmingham July Update II

As the opening day for the New Library of Birmingham draws nearer work to move books to the new library is well underway.  The space surrounding the amphitheatre and Centenary Square are being revealed to the public with hoardings being dismantled, the unpaved sections of Centenary Square being relaid to restore the Persian rug design and the new gardens being watered to ensure the newly planted plants establish themselves and add a green space to surround the amphitheatre space.

The following pictures from 24 July show the square and a sneak peak through the glass to the interior of the library filling up with books on the shelves.

Wonder if they'll stick a grand piano in the 'hole in the square' as has been illustrated in the promotional CGI's and videos??
