Kings Heath Squares off

Work on the new public square in Kings Heath, adjacent to All Saints Church on the junction of Vicarage Road and the High Street, has started. The project has had the support of Kings Heath Centre Partnership from it's beginning with the Partnership, using BID money, helped pay for the initial landscape design activity and more recently has agreed to pay nearly £20,000 towards street furniture and plants including benches and bulbs; http://www.kingsheathcentrepartnership.org/.

Major funders for the project are Birmingham City Council and Groundwork UK’s Community Spaces programme. The work will be carried out in 3 phases over a period of 6 months.

Photos of the site and work from the 3rd April 2011 are shown below. Most noticeable is the relocation of the stone cross visible in my previous post, Square heart for Kings Heath.
