Switch the light off

The Express and Star has revealed the rising energy bills are not just affecting homeowners. Local authorities in the West Midlands are facing rising bills with Walsall spending an extra £300,000 alone while Birmingham's bill has risen £700,000 to over £7 million.

The West Midlands TaxPayers’ Alliance today called on councils to save taxpayers’ money by switching off unnecessary lights.

Perhaps Birmingham City Council ought to extend it's new LED Christmas lights to new LED lights for it's street lights.
