Modelling Edgbaston

On Saturday afternoon I went to the model exhibition at Baskerville House as part of Birmingham City Council's Climate Change Festival and was treated to a model of the Edgbaston Galleries scheme.

Edgbaston Galleries is a regeneration scheme at one of the key gateways to Birmingham city centre at the junction of Five Ways island on the site of a 1960s office and shopping centre.

The £110 million redevelopment sees the existing 1960’s office and shopping scheme demolished and replaced with a new 39,500 sq m (424,500 sq ft) development boasting 15,000 sq m (159,300 sq ft) of Grade A office space, 10,100 sq m (108,600 sq ft) of retail (including a foodstore) and leisure, hotel accommodation and 800 car parking spaces.
